Electrical Problems!!!!!!!!
can drive you insane

Important tips everyone should know before moving into a new place.

Common electrical problems in homes and tips for fixing those pesky electric problems.

I cannot reflect the importance of checking your electrical system out before buying a new home, trailer, business or anything with 110 volt wall outlet plugins.  What happens if the electrical is not up to code it will not only be a fire hazard, it can quickly destroy electrical devices.  There are some tips you need to know first before plugging things in or you could have bad things happen.
Though it might sound odd check each light and electrical device, AC, furnance and the works.  It may be that there is a problem you will soon find.  Get a probe for electrical outlets with three prongs.  It will have three indicator lights to show proper grounding or reversed hot and neutral and various other malfunctions.  Make sure you know how to read the probe.  You can get an electical probe at any popular store that sells hardware such as Meeks, Home Depot, OSH, and the like.  If there is a problem you need to have the owner fix the wiring before moving in.  DON'T TAKE HIS WORD FOR FIXING THE REPAIRS!!!  RECHECK WITH YOUR PROBE!!!

This is a tip for saving you considerable amounts of time and money in repairs.  Take advice from someone that learned the hard way.  Several electrical component failures and I realized I had problems.

Diagnosing Electrical Problems

There are some important facts to diagnosing electrical problems.  ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS CAN KILL YOU LEAVE IT TO THE EXPERTS IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX THEM!!!

I recently moved into a nice 5th wheel trailer.  It had several electrical problems.  They were however made worse when someone worked on it without proper knowledge of how to fix the problems prior to me buying it.  Do not take electricity for granted.  One problem can cause a multitude of problems.  YOU CAN MAKE IT WORSE BY DOING THE WRONG "REPAIRS."  I never worked on 110 volts however I have done so much DC voltage repairs it made sense to me.  To make a long story short months later I found the problem and it was where water got in to a connection underneith the trailer and oxidized the copper at the wire nut.  As soon as I took off a coupling plate I knew that was where the problem lie dormant for perhaps years.  It took months of me living here tearing electical components apart trying to fix it.
Some common tips are to go to parts of the home or trailer or whatever it is and check components that are exposed to the elements.  Books are written on electrical repair so I am just scraping the surface.  JUST REMEMBER TO TURN OFF UNPLUG ALL AREAS OF WORK AND SURROUNDING CIRCUITS.  YOU CAN NEVER BE TO CAREFUL WITH ELECRICITY.  ALSO REMOVE RINGS AND NECKLACES OR WATCHES OR ANYTHING THAT MAY CONDUCT ELECTRICITY.  ALSO CHECK TO MAKE SURE THERE IS NO POWER.  IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO CHECK YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT.
